If you are traveling from San Antonio and locations south, take Interstate 35 north. Austin is 1 hour north of San Antonio and only 4 hours from the USA/Mexican border.
From the West:
If you are traveling from El Paso and locations west, take Interstate 10 east, then US 290 east (exit 477) directly into Austin. Austin is 576 miles or 7 hours from El Paso.
From the East:
If you are traveling from Houston and locations east, take Interstate 10 west, then Texas 71 west directly into Austin. Austin is 3 hours from Houston.
